JENNIFER MARGARET BAKER - SCOTLAND

Jennifer Margaret Baker's compositions have been featured on documentary and art films, including “No Denying” and "A Box of Whistles", and promotional films such as "An Autumn Day in the Hagley Powder Yard", for the Hagley Museum and Library. Her compositions have also been exhibited as music-video art in galleries such as Philadelphia's Crane Arts, and utilized as musical underscoring for theatrical productions, such as a production of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' in Mumbai, India. To date, her works have been performed in China (mainland and Hong Kong), Australia, Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Italy, Malta, The Czech Republic, Slovenia, Canada, Israel, Argentina and Brazil, as well as in the United Kingdom (Scotland, England and Wales) and the United States. 

In addition to a wide variety of international awards, Barker has received grants from organizations such as The National Endowment for the Arts, The Scottish Arts Council, Creative Scotland, the Pew Charitable Trust, the American Composers Forum, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the Norfolk (USA) Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Meir Rimon Commissioning Assistance Grant, the Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, the Philadelphia Music Project, and the Delaware Division of the Arts. In 2007 she received an Established Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts for her contributions to the State of Delaware. In 2018 she was awarded the Pi Kappa Lambda Chamber Work Commission, with the premiere of the work taking place at the Centennial Anniversary Convention of Pi Kappa Lambda (1918-2018) in Washington, DC. 

Barker has been invited to present lectures on her works and composition masterclasses at festivals, conferences, universities and conservatories, in Malta, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and England, as well as in the States and her native Scotland. As part of the 2015 Vocali3e/National Trust for Scotland "A Lassie's Love" project, Barker also presented composition workshops in Ayrshire, Aberdeenshire, Strathclyde and Perthshire, in Scotland.

JENNI BRANDON - USA 
BORN 6  MAY

Jenni Brandon is an award-winning composer, conductor, and mezzo-soprano who enjoys engaging with performers and audiences, often giving talks about the business of music and the art of collaboration. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Sorel Medallion, the American Prize for Choral Composition, the Women Composers Festival of Hartford International Composition Competition, and the Bassoon Chamber Music Composition Competition. She was the composer in residence for the 2018 inaugural season of the LunART Festival in Madison, Wisconsin, where her chamber and choral music was featured throughout the festival. She also gave talks on the art of collaboration and worked with emerging composers in her workshop “From Page to Stage”.

Her recent commissions and performances include We Are Joy, a piano concerto for choir and chamber orchestra with poetry by Oliver Mayer and soon to be published by Pavane Publishing. Her new American Musical Hybrid “Three Paderewskis” with book by Oliver Mayer is the winner of the 2017 Paderewski Cycle sponsored by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and is being developed into a one-act show. Upcoming commissions include a bassoon concerto for Christin Schillinger as well as the Akropolis Reed Quintet, a new work for mezzo-soprano, bassoon, and harp for bassoonist Darrel Hale, and solo oboe work for Lindabeth Binkley to premiere and record on her upcoming CD that features Jenni’s chamber music for the oboe.

Recordings of her works appear on 16 CDS on the Delos, Albany, Centaur, MSR Classics, Blue Griffin, and Longhorn labels. Her works are published and distributed by Boosey & Hawkes, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Graphite Publishing, TrevCo Music Publishing, Imagine Music, J.W. Pepper, and Jenni Brandon Music.
