Check out our new ALBUM OF THE WEEK

Each week, we will post a different album that will make your Wednesday way easier!

PRISM, by Ellen Reid

About the album:

The 3-act chamber opera "p r i s m", with music by Ellen Reid to a libretto by Roxie Perkins, won the 2019 Pulitzer Price for Music. The story deals with difficult and sensitive subject matter: sexual assault and its psychological aftermath on its victims. Reid has publicly acknowledged that both she and Perkins have suffered sexual assault. So for both artists, this work covers emotionally fraught territory close to home. It should be noted that Reid and Perkins began work on this opera years before the #metoo movement burst into public consciousness.
