ANA CAROLINA - BRAZIL

Ana Carolina is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and musician.

Ana grew up listening to Brazilian famous musical names such as Chico Buarque and Maria Bethania. She is also a fan of Nina Simone and Alanis Morissette. She started her career singing in local bars.

In 2005, she came out as a bisexual.

AMY COOK - USA

Amy Cook is an American songwriter and singer that lives in Austin, Texas. Her songs have appeared in several television shows like Good Wife, Veronica Mars, Dawson's Creek, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, Felicity, and Party of Five, amongst others.

ANGELA RO RO - BRAZIL

Angela Ro Ro is a Brazilian musician, songwriter, and singer, influenced by names like Ella Fitzgerald, Maysa Matarazzo, and Jacques Brel.

Her first album is considered one of the greatest Brazilian albums of all time by the Rolling Stone.

She is one of the first out lesbian musicians in Brazil.

CALENNA GARBÄ - ARGENTINA

Calenna Garbä is a trans composer and pianist. In the beginning, she was a gender composer, specialized in Movie Soundtracks.

She won several prizes during her career, including the Argentinian prize "Estrella de Mar 2017". In 2017, she premiere a work played by the Queer Symphonic Orchestra de Nueva York.

DANIELA MERCURY - BRAZIL

Daniela Mercury is one of the most known Brazilian singers, composers, and producers. She sold more than 20 million albums, won a Grammy Latino, and several other national prizes during her career.

Daniela Mercury is bissexual and is married to the journalist Malu Verçosa since 2013.

JANELLE MONÁE - USA

Janelle Monáe is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, and producer. She has received eight Grammy nominations and won several other prizes. Monáe was also honored with the Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award in 2015

She identifies herself as bisexual and pansexual.

JULIETTE NOUREDDINE - FRANCE

Juliette Noureddine, also known only as Juliette, is a Franch composer, singer, and songwriter.

She is one of the most original and important voices of France today. She has released seven albums so far and received the medal Chevalier des Arts et Lettres. She also hosts a radio show in France, where she presents a selection of eclectic and diverse music, from pop to classical, according to her mood.

LAURA KAMINSKY - USA

Laura Kaminsky is an American composer, producer of musical and multi-disciplinary cultural events, and educator.

Her music was performed around the world and she won numerous prestigious awards and fellowships. She has already worked in Ghana, Poland, and the US.

RONA MAC - UK

Rona Mac is an English composer with (only!) 25 years old from Wales. She published her first music release this year, and she home-recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered it.

SANDRA DE SÁ - BRAZIL

Sandra de Sá is a Brazilian singer, musician, and songwriter. Her main songs are popular Brazilian music and black music.

She is involved with music since she was young, especially in the Carnaval context. She won several prizes in her career. In 2015 she assumed her bisexuality.

UÉLE LAMORE - FRANCE

Uèle Lamore is an American conductor and composer. In 2007, she created the l'Orchestre Orage, for independent artists.

She is specialized in the mixing of orchestral and acoustic textures with modular, electronic, and synthetic elements.

ZÉLIA DUNCAN - BRAZIL

Zélia Duncan is an actress, singer, and composer.

She started her career in the '80s after winning a contest by the Fundação Nacional de Artes. She was also part of the Brazilian band Os Mutantes from 2006 to 2008. Since then, she continued her solo career.

VERA IVANOVA - RUSSIA
BORN 30 JUNE

Visionary composer Joelle Wallach writes music for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo voices and choruses. Her String Quartet 1995 was the American Composers Alliance nominee for the 1997 Pulitzer Prize in Music. The New York Philharmonic Ensembles premiered her octet, From the Forest of Chimneys, written to celebrate their 10th anniversary; and the New York Choral Society commissioned her secular oratorio, Toward a Time of Renewal, for 200 voices and orchestra to commemorate their 35th Anniversary Season in Carnegie Hall. Wallach’s ballet, Glancing Below, a 1999 Juilliard Dance Theater showcase production originally commissioned by the Carlisle Project, was premiered in Philadelphia during the summer of 1994, entered the repertory of the Hartford Ballet in February 1995, and received its New York City premiere that June. 

As early as 1980 her choral work, On the Beach at Night Alone, won first prize in the Inter-American Music Awards.Wallach grew up in Morocco, but makes her home in New York City, where she was born. Her early training in piano, voice, theory, bassoon and violin included study at the Juilliard Preparatory Division, and she earned bachelors and masters degrees at Sarah Lawrence College and Columbia University respectively. In 1984 the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with John Corigliano, granted her its first doctorate in composition.A pre-concert lecturer for the New York Philharmonic for several subscription series, Ms Wallach speaks on a broad range of musical subjects, bringing fresh insights to familiar works and opening doors to modern ones and to those less frequently heard.

ADRIANA HÖLSZKY  - ROMENIA  

BORN 30 JUNE

Adriana Hölszky was born in Bucharest. In the years 1959-1969 she studied piano with Olga Rosca-Berdan at the music school in Bucharest. In 1972, she began to study composition with Ştefan Niculescu as parallel to piano studies at the Bucharest Music Conservatory. In 1976 she moved with her family to Germany. Here she continued her studies, and in 1977-1980 she studied composition at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart with Milko Kelemen, and chamber music with Günter Louegk. During her studies she performed as a pianist of the Trio Lipatti, together with her twin sister, violinist Monika Hölszky-Wiedemann and cellist Hertha Rosa-Herseni.

In 1977 and 1978, she participated in the International Mozarteum Summer Academy, and in 1978-1984 regularly in the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music. In 1980 she received a teaching position at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, and in 1983 a grant from the Arts Foundation of Baden-Württemberg. In 1986 she took first place at the Composers' Forum of the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music. In 1987 she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of Lower Saxony. In 1992 she took composition seminars in Tokyo and Kyoto, and at the IRCAM in Paris. Her increasing international popularity was shown by three concerts she performed in Athens, Thessaloniki and Boston in 1993.

Between 1997 and 2000, Hölszky was professor of composition at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre, and since 2000 she has been professor of composition at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Since 2002 she has been a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin.
